Fuel Effeciency Adviser™

Quick TIP:

One of the most rewarding aspects of owning an Adviser is the self-competition of being able to measure your improving driving habits on a dollar and cents basis. You have the choice of entering a new per gallon price each time you fill-up. However, until there is a significant change in price, your trip measurements are easier to compare at the same price. Thus, if one’s current cost is “x” per gallon enter that number and leave it there until there is a significant price movement

How does an Adviser really work?

All Cars, SUV's, pick-up trucks and vans (1996 model and later) have a connector portal inside the passenger compartment that provides diagnostics information and allows resetting of the “Check Engine” light. The Adviser quickly performs diagnostic functions, but also goes well beyond this by displaying many more useful functions on a real time basis . . . the most popular being its display of the real time monetary costs and potential savings of one’s driving behavior.. Back to top How do I find the OBD2 receptacle to plug in my Adviser?

Almost always it is under the dash just to the left or right of the steering column. Sometimes it will have a removable or hinged cover. In a few vehicles the receptacle will be under the dash on the passenger side.Back to top Can I move the Adviser to another vehicle?

Yes. It can easily be moved from one vehicle to another in just minutesBack to topCan I obtain an extra cable for use in another vehicle?

Yes. Please go to “How to Buy” page.Back to top Will the Adviser clear my trouble codes and turn off my “Check Engine” light?

Yes. The Adviser will clear the codes and turn off the light.Back to top Will the Adviser indicate metric units?

Yes. Driver may independently select between Miles/Km, Gallons/Liters, Celsius/Fahrenheit. It will also accommodate Imperial Gallons and display local currencies on the same real time basis as dollars.Back to top Others may use my vehicle including children. Will the Adviser tell me how fast and far they drove?

Yes. This information is stored in the Trip Computer and can be recalled for up to a day after another party used the vehicle Back to top What if someone disconnects the Adviser while they are using the car?

A Disconnect Indicator will be displayed in the trip data when the vehicle is returned.Back to top Do I have to reset the Trip Computer for each trip?

No. The “Current” (CTC) trip display is automatically reset after the ignition has been off for a few minutes. Thus one can measure real time dollar and cents costs and gallon utilization for specific destinations. “It’s 22 miles to the airport and today it cost me $2.32. I used 1.16 gallons.”

The “Day” (SFT) accumulates multiple trip costs on a real time basis and automatically resets after the ignition has been off more than 9 hours. It is then moved to Previous day before it automatically resets.

See “Trip Computer” page for other Adviser capabilities. Back to to
